The stick really does go all the way through!
Ha ha ha...the last science night I did that and a couple of teenagers saw and they're like "Oh, it's an optical illusion..." but it wasn't.

That's totally cool! How did you do that?
Blow your balloon up so it still has a little give. Then spread oil up and down the skewer. Start in the thick part of the end of the balloon and slightly twist the skewer. same thing on the other side. Walla...a crowd pleasing, balloon skewering trick.
