It's appropriate, I think, to mark the start of Spring with a Splash Challenge in this month's food styling blog circle. Or blircle as Amanda Eller calls it. I really wanted to see some serious movement with my splashes so I brushed right past the ice and went for something heavier, well it worked!
But be advised in the game rocks vs glass...rocks win.
Burning through two vases was well worth the collateral damage though I'd say.
I am so excited to see what the others have been up to. So sit back and take a peek at the fabulous

Wow Kat! These have such amazing energy! I am super impressed by the 3 splashes at once, go girl!!
I agree with Jen, love the trio! and I also really like your dark background, your "splashes" show up so much clearer. :)
I love the word blircle!! And I love the color that you used here. My son chose the trio as his favorite and after helping me with my shots has a great appreciation for getting all 3 at the same time! Well done! Bummer about the lost glass, but with your gorgeous photos it was worth it! And besides, how often does a kid get to break a glass and have it be ok?? :)
Thanks girls! I do feel like i need to come clean on the trio though. It's a photoshop collage so they were taken separately. The just seemed to naturally go together so I I thought I better let them. :)
Wow, you did a rockin' job here! Love the splashes, love the dark background against bright pops of color. Totally cool. :)
Way to take two for the team! I love the broken vases shots. The one with the rock flying through the very side of the vase is awesome!
Sheesh! Amazing! :)
Ha ha!! you mentioned me :P I love these to pieces. I love the black backdrop, the colors, your splashes...your commentary. Really great job!
Kat, I've got to say that your splash photos are my favorite of our group's collection. I love the contrast of the bright colors on the black and your lighting just accentuates everything. I just love them. And frankly, the broken glass image is the best of the lot. Drama. I hate to keep repeating myself but I just keep thinking, "I just love it!!!"
I Love these Kat!! The colors are so vibrant and the photo's are so sharp.. and the flying glass is such a great capture!
Awesome! What talent! And yes, I'd say the broken glass was worth it ;)
Love all your great colors & splashes! So sorry ended up with some broken glass though... I think these images look totally worth it!
